At least 5 years of progressive training, human resources, or talent management experience.

Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage diverse projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

A bachelor degree in Business, Human Resources, or Adult Education. Master degree in an asset.

Experience in creation of leadership development and learning programs using a variety of methods (eLearning, instructor-led, and blended learning).

Secondary School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)

Previous experience as a conductor will be considered an asset

Travel frequently and be away from home for extended periods of time

Good decision making skills will be considered an asset

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Handling the switching of cars, including coupling and uncoupling cars and able to lift out coupling device

Experience operating with safety management systems

Knowledge of technology and computer systems with a willingness to use Excel and Outlook on a daily basis

Ability to obtain certification and medical clearances to perform the role

Experience working in a heavy construction, industrial, or rail environment

Experience as a qualified locomotive engineer and/or conductor is an asset

Ensures safe operation of the locomotive and train movements including conducting clear and concise job briefings

Writing and passing safety and rules exams. (Note: As per collective agreement, subsequent mandatory Locomotive Engineer qualification to retain seniority/employment.)

Completion of college or vocational/technical school and/or Freight Conductor experience

Relevant work experience in similar working conditions or regulatory/safety environment

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements

Ensuring compliance with all train orders, signals, railroad rules and regulations related to safety and operations

Providing and receiving various forms of oral and printed instructions concerning the movement and placement of rail cars

Excellent communication skills on the phone and via Zoom

At least 5 years working in a professional capacity either for yourself or for a professional company

Familiar with basic functionality of social media apps (Facebook & Linkedin)

Locomotive Engineer qualification/experience is required

Excellent teamwork and strong customer service skills

Working knowledge of technology and computer systems with a willingness to use Excel and Outlook on a daily basis

Strong problem solving and decision making abilities

Ability to obtain and maintain required certification and Safety Critical Medical clearances including passing drug and alcohol screening

Must hold and maintain CROR certification

Writing and passing safety and rules exams. (Note: As per collective agreement, subsequent mandatory Locomotive Engineer qualification to retain seniority/employment.)

Completion of college or vocational/technical school and/or Freight Conductor experience

Relevant work experience in similar working conditions or regulatory/safety environment
