Apprentice Machinist Jobs

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Machinist or in a similar role

Experience in using precision tools, including micrometers, gauges, and calipers

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Experience in operating mills, lathes, saws, and grinders

Experience with Fanuc and Heidenhien controllers would be an asset.

Maintain up to date knowledge of industry standards and practices.

Provide verification of dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.

Fit and assemble machine components and parts to industry standards.

Ensure work piece dimensions are correct and to established tolerance criteria.

Measure, examine and test completed parts, identifying defects and ensuring conformance to specifications and blueprints.

Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Machinist or Millwright recognized by the Province of British Columbia

Current CNA Certification in Palliative Care.

High School Diploma or equivalent general education.

3+ years of experience as a General Machinist

Receive drawings and material from storage area

Read blueprints to determine optimal method of production

Learning and applying the latest relevant knowledge to the work.

Machinist Red Seal Certificate of Qualification preferred but not mandatory.

3-5 years’ experience is preferred.

Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.

Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.

Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

Strong problem solving and computer skills;

Will be required to have obtain all CPKC certification pertaining to specific tasks and assignments;

Certificate of Qualification for Machinist

2+ years work experience in a related position

Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines

Experience in supervising and mentoring apprentices

Ability to select proper material, heat treat and/or process for tooling requirements

Previous experience or certification using material handling devices using cranes and lift trucks,

An Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a Machinist, Tool and Die Maker or equivalent,

3 + years of experience in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment,

Previous experience operating a vertical boring mill is an asset,

Set up machines in order to machine parts to engineering specifications

Work from a basic program on CNC machines and make the necessary edits to conform to drawing specifications,

2-10 years' experience as a Machinist;

Ability to manage complex machining tasks with a high level of productivity and accuracy ;

Experience machining small parts is an asset;

Mastercam programming experience is an asset;

Ability to work well under pressure and manage demanding timelines;

Knowledge of properties of materials and tools, machining practices, production processes, and quality control;

Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal.

Other work assigned as required.

Ability to multi task, detail oriented, positive attitude, and team player.

The ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.

Self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision and contribute positively to safe work environment.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and service literature.

Preparation and presentation of Alberta, Machinist curriculum

Instruction of curriculum to apprentices and related Certificate or Diploma programs

Instruct and demonstrate course outline objectives, projects, and curriculum
