We would love to hear from you! A leading manufacturing company located in the Collingwood area is looking for two CNC machinists!

Hours Mon-Thurs 6:00 am-4:00 pm for two weeks then Mon-Thurs4:00 pm-2:00 am rotate very two weeks.
Paid benefits 100% - paid time off, sign-on bonus , paid pension,
Hourly rate starts at $29.15/hr to 31.79/hr. depending on experience. We also offer $1.35/hr Afternoon Shift premium . Any hours worked over 40 hrs/week are paid out or banked at 1.5x hourly rate.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic machine preventive maintenance from time to time.
• Work from a basic program on CNC machines and make the necessary edits to conform to drawing specifications,
• Operate material handling devices such as cranes and lift trucks in a safe manner,
• Set up machines in order to machine parts to engineering specifications
• Operate a wide variety of machines including conventional machines, CNC lathes and mills, vertical boring mills, finish grinder, drills and saws without supervision
• Perform other manual machining operations such as tapping, grinding, and honing in order to machine the part to acceptable standards.
• Use a variety of measuring devices such as verniers and micrometers to ensure the part is within acceptable tolerance as determined by the engineering drawing,
• Safely operate hand tools such as buffers and grinders,
• Assist manufacturing engineering with parts programming for machining centres.

Qualifications

• 3 + years of experience in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment,
• An Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a Machinist, Tool and Die Maker or equivalent,
• The ability to use a variety of measuring devices such as tape measures, verniers, and calipers,
• The ability to perform math calculations to an SSGD level
• Previous experience or certification using material handling devices using cranes and lift trucks,
• Previous experience operating a vertical boring mill is an asset,
• The ability to read and understand engineering drawings, work instructions and procedures in order to manufacture machined parts,
