Animal Handler Jobs

Experience in livestock feed, premixes or Feed Mill will be valued.

The role is based in Manitoba, with significant time spent with customers in the field (app. 60%).

Maintains sectional filing system and electronic databases with new and/or updated information; generates reports for review by Management.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Coordinates and prepares staff time and labour entries.

Prepares meeting minutes, reports and correspondence, including animal bites and requests for prosecution.

Assists with training new Animal Services and Call Centre staff as it relates to section specific software and standard operating procedures.

Experience in program and project management working with remote teams.

Good knowledge about the Canadian animal agriculture industry sector; work experience within the sector an asset.

Manage and coordinate all aspects of Humane Canada’s participation as a key animal welfare advocacy organization at NFACC.

Reports to Senior Manager, Policy and Research.

In depth knowledge of farmed animal welfare issues in Canada.

Handle general care tasks such as feeding, behavior management, wellness and grooming of the animals

Previous experience with animal an asset, not required.

Capture pictures and videos of the dogs using a cell phone for clients

Update and maintain electronic records of the dogs

Engage in play activities including fetch, brain games, feeding kongs etc.

Maintain a clean and healthy environment. This means picking up lots of poop!
