Anesthesia Aide Jobs

Graduation from a recognized Anesthesia Assistant Program plus current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Comprehensive knowledge of current anesthesia assistant theory and practice within a client/family centered model for care.

Broad knowledge of the CAS clinical practice guidelines for Anesthesia Assistants.

Broad knowledge of research process and methodology.

Demonstrated skill in CPR techniques.

Demonstrated skill in the use of medical equipment and supplies appropriate to the clinical area.

One year of acute care medical/surgical experience required.

Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.

Nursing care knowledge related to clinical area.

Roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team.

Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.

Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.

Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively

Applied research experience with human participants an asset

Experience with statistical analysis software an asset

Experience with REDCap an asset

Assists in the planning and implementation of a REDCap database

Assists with environmental scans to make connections with like organizations

Three (3) years' recent, related clinical care experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Recent certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.

Certain site-specific requirements may include upon hire, the successful completion of ACLS, NRP or PALS.

Provides appropriate monitoring, interventions and clinical management commensurate with accepted certification and scope of practice

Proficiency in airway management and manual ventilation with and without an established advanced airway

Provide respiratory therapy services for patients in PACU (i.e., Ventilator and Airway Management, Hi-flow oxygen therapy, specialty inhalation therapy)

You are a team player with excellent communication, critical thinking and prioritization skills

Current BCLS, ACLS, NRP certification (PALS an asset)

Minimum 1 years’ experience in an Anesthesia Assistant role preferred

Ensure adequate analgesia is provided through multi-modal pain management, including via advanced regional anesthetic techniques.
