Job Description

Are you a Waterloo Computer Science or Software Engineering grad seeking a flexible side-hustle that pays well and makes a positive impact on the world?

Sure, building game-changing tech and writing stellar code is a great time, but life's all about balance, right?

If you're interested in making an impact on the next generation of developers and build your coaching/mentorship skills, becoming a Youth Coach™ might be a great fit for you.

As a Youth Coach™, you will help students build real-world skills, get prepped for university, obtain their dream jobs in tech, and become their best selves.

Using our platform and proprietary coaching methodology, you will work virtually, choose your own hours, and have the flexibility to select the number of clients with whom you work.

If selected, you'll complete the Youth Coach™ Certification—the gold-standard credential in youth coaching—and you'll be paid competitively, offered ongoing training opportunities, and other unique benefits.

The skills you learn will help you become a better person and manager, but also you'll join our thriving coach community of Canada's most successful young professionals.

About Youthfully

Youthfully is the leading virtual, 1-on-1 Youth Coaching platform for students. As the creators of the Youth Coach™ category, Youthfully has helped thousands of students successfully transition into university, career, and life by making high-quality, 1-on-1 coaching seamlessly accessible.

Students feel alone & stressed during a time when they are making consequential life choices—and today's standardized, impersonalized, and antiquated academic model doesn't help. Youthfully matches students to a qualified Youth Coach™, who leverages our comprehensive training and powerful coaching platform to help youth get prepared for life and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Consider client feedback and take on training opportunities to improve coaching effectiveness
  • Help clients set clear goals and progress towards achieving those goals
  • Provide well-thought-out & easy to understand coaching guidance
  • Create a safe & supportive environment for clients
  • Deliver individualized youth coaching to each client across a range of chosen coaching areas (e.g. university admissions, internship project coaching, building a passion project, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Help clients develop skills and discover new insights about themselves

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Curious, inquisitive, and empathetic
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Undergraduate degree from Waterloo in CS/Software Eng
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Energetic and creative approach to tasks
