Fully remote anywhere in Western Canada
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Development Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of technical resources, overseeing the development process, and driving the successful delivery of software solutions. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing technical teams, with expertise in Azure DevOps, Agile methodologies, SDLC, full-stack development, and C# .NET Core.
Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of talented developers, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to foster their professional growth and ensure high-quality deliverables.
2. Project Management: Oversee the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) for multiple projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to the defined scope.
3. Technical Expertise: Possess deep knowledge and expertise in Azure DevOps, Agile methodologies, SDLC, full-stack development and C# .NET Core, enabling effective communication and collaboration with the development team.
4. Resource Allocation: Allocate resources appropriately, considering project requirements, team member skills, and workload distribution to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.
5. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including product owners, business analysts, and QA teams, to understand project requirements and align development efforts with business goals.
6. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Proactively address any issues that arise during development and implement corrective actions as necessary.
7. Continuous Improvement: Drive the adoption of best practices, tools, and technologies to enhance the development process and improve team performance. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, sharing knowledge with the team as appropriate.
8. Performance Monitoring: Monitor team and individual performance, tracking key metrics, and providing regular feedback to ensure high-quality work and adherence to established processes.
9. Collaboration and Communication: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting effective communication, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role, managing technical resources in software development projects.
3. Strong expertise in Azure DevOps, including continuous integration and deployment, source control, and release management.
4. Extensive knowledge and practical experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and the ability to implement Agile practices effectively.
5. Proficiency in C# .NET Core development, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and software architecture.
