Virtual Investment Committee (Multiple Positions)

Sports Tech Canada is a community investment platform that is democratizing access to capital and innovation in sports technology. Our mission is to better serve the sports technology industry in Canada though investment, private/public/government support, strategic partnerships and more.

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to join our Virtual Investment Committee (VIC). As a Virtual Investment Committee Member, you will play a vital role in analyzing and evaluating investment opportunities, providing strategic recommendations, and contributing to the growth and success of our investment initiatives that can be structured around your area of expertise. We are looking for assistance in the following areas:

• Community Building, Social Media, Communications, PR, etc.
• Deal Flow and Due Diligence
• Legal, Financial (CFO), Operations
• Networking, Access to Investors/Capital, Influencers, Partners, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with fellow committee members to review, analyze, and assess potential investment opportunities.
• Participate in virtual committee meetings to discuss and present investment recommendations to the team.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to inform investment decisions.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing investments, providing periodic reports and recommendations for adjustments, if necessary.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of investment strategies, goals, and objectives.
• Conduct comprehensive due diligence on investment proposals, including financial analysis, risk assessment, and market research.

Qualifications:

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess risks and make informed decisions.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, communications, social media, community management or PR (not exclusive)
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, marketing, communications, PR or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex concepts.
• Proficiency in using investment analysis tools, financial modeling software, Microsoft Excel, Airtable, social media platforms, design tools and specific strategies based on your area of expertise.
• Strong understanding of financial analysis, valuation techniques, and investment principles.
• Proven track record of successfully evaluating and executing investment opportunities.
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a virtual team environment.

Remuneration:

This is a part time contract with an average of 4hrs.week or more based on involvement and interest. You will be entitled to receive remuneration, which will be a percentage of the Community Performance Fee or Community Equity Fee (based on the applicable scenario) for each successful capital raise that both commences and closes during your tenure.
