Job Description

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, as a senior leader, this role is ultimately accountable and responsible for the overall success, oversight and leadership of the global Marketing functions along with delivering business targets and agreed upon budgets. In addition, the role is accountable for the new product development roadmap into established and significant growth. Collaborating with other senior leaders, the incumbent will ensure value creation through promotion of new business development, extended and improved product offerings, and market and competitive analysis to establish business strategies. Primarily this role will lead, manage, and develop the marketing function. In collaboration and alignment with sales, operations, and other functional leadership, establishing commercialization of solutions along with new product roadmaps, project and promotional execution to meet customer demands and requirements, while building effective and enduring business relationships with key business stakeholders both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Research and Analysis & Strategy Development

Leads the global market research and analysis to identify industry trends, competitor activities and industry insights. Analyzes market data to identify strategic market opportunities that aids in providing valuable insights to the strategic planning process.

• Develops and executes comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the organization’s overall goals and objectives. This includes identifying target markets, defining positioning, and establishing marketing goals and metrics.

• Conducts voice of customer research and provides NPS data and opportunities to elevate customer experiences.

• Collaborates with key business stakeholders in establishing and presenting a commercialization strategy including market opportunity sizing, competitive set and potential financial business for consideration of strategic options.


2. New Product Development & Product Solutions

• Develops and implements the NPD strategy, with an emphasis in growth markets

• Identifies and develops opportunities across transformers and adjacent products/markets

• Ideate new products, develop business cases and present to other executives and Board members to see approvals for new product investment in collaboration and alignment with Power Quality & Power Conversion Solutions Business Unit.

• Maintain a consistent pipeline of new product innovation as a key input to strategic planning.

• Be the leading voice in product trends in the organization identifying and advocating for new opportunities.

• Ensures all government and regulatory standards are maintained including safety standards and procedures.

• Leads a team of product solutions managers with a focus on product depth and breadth to identify profitable growth opportunities in application solutions.

• Clearly define and communicate product requirements and garner alignment with operations on production timelines.

• Develops “pitch’ decks to communicate market segment specific opportunities, product features, benefits, and applications solutions.

• Works with overall HPS commercial leaders to drive breadth and depth of profitable growth opportunities within existing and new channels for new and existing product opportunities.

• Works closely with the sales, technical solutions group and production teams to steer new product development timelines until product launch.


3. Brand Management & Marketing Communication

• Develops and maintains the organization’s brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging and positioning across all marketing channels. Monitors brand perception and implements strategies to enhance brand equity.

• Leads a team in driving the organization’s marketing communication and digital marketing initiatives, including website strategy and development, trade events, promotional collateral, SEO/SEM social media, email marketing, content marketing, and digital advertising. Stays updated with emerging trends and technologies to leverage digital opportunities.

  • Drives digital marketing alignment within all channels to market in partnership with Sales
  • Leads value creation through technical and application training through our HPS Academy


4.Sales Growth and Profitability

  • Leads implementation and maintenance of sales/marketing systems and tools
  • Works with overall HPS commercial leaders to drive breadth and depth of profitable growth opportunities within existing and new channels for new product opportunities.
  • Develops and executes pricing and margin management strategies on a global scale that ensures market competitiveness and profitability within existing and new markets



5. Talent Management

• Drives HPS values and corporate culture within the global Marketing team

• Considers a people first approach that elevates engagement and employee experience.

• Proactively coaches and develops emerging leaders and others

• Aligned with corporate people strategy, ensures talent are positioned in right roles with appropriate development and succession plans

Critical Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to read/analyze, interpret financial reports, technical specifications and legal contracts.
  • Results oriented and manages time effectively to achieve results.
  • Pricing and margin management and execution that delivers sales growth and organizational profitability targets
  • Proven experience in building and developing high performance teams through leading and inspiring a team to achieve organizational goals and individual KPI’s.
  • Demonstrated achievement of profitable sales growth and margin management through effective pricing strategies
  • A minimum of 5 years in new product development management, product management or related experience within an industrial manufacturing working with technical product specifications within an engineered to order as well as standard product manufacturing environment; preferably within the electrical industry.
  • Sound market segment knowledge and understanding of industry applications
  • In-depth knowledge of various marketing channels, including digital marketing, and traditional marketing methods.
  • Proven ability to manage success and conflict amongst teams and people in the interest of supporting the best interests of HPS overall.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 7-10 years leading cross-functional project teams with budget accountability within a global organization at a senior level.
