Reporting to the Senior Director, Operation Services, Civil Infrastructure, the VFM (Value for Money) Coordinator is responsible for developing standards, processes, and procedures for defining and measuring value for our Industrial project work. The position will work closely with various stakeholders while implementing a clear communications strategy to understand business requirements.
This position is based in the Edmonton, AB office.
Responsibilities
  • Develop a fit-for-purpose costs analysis plan to assess the value of the product.
  • Support cost accounting while achieving the lowest price.
  • Create writing submissions for review and approval.
  • Implement a strategic and equitable plan to identify risks and budgetary items.
  • Coordinate evaluation discussions to better understand stakeholder feedback.
  • Maintain and update documentation as required.
  • Participate in the review and refinement of processes with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support performance and technical audits.
  • Facilitate accountable and transparent decision-making.
  • Obtain better quality of goods and services in more suitable quantities.
  • Conduct market research in an effective and economical manner.
  • Ensure VFM ideas are summarized and well formatted.
  • Build strong relationships with our preferred vendors.
What We Are Looking For
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with project team, subtrades, consultants and client
  • Sense of urgency, flexibility, and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in challenging, fast paced environment
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, strong math skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Civil or Industrial Engineering, Construction Management or other relevant experience
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
