Job Description

Detailed Job description:

Title: Vehicle Dynamics Engineer - Intermediate

Location: Windsor, ON with US Travel

Duration: 5+ months and possible extension

Description:

Vehicle Dynamics engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Driving Simulator supporting product development teams in subjective evaluations of Vehicle Dynamic models. The engineer will help in the development and optimization of Suspension, Steering system kinematics and compliance requirements via the usage of the Driving Simulator, at times maybe be required to provide subjective and objective assessment of the Vehicle Dynamic models.

Responsibilities will also include development of SOP's, tools, and methodologies for enhancing the usage of the Driving Simulator.

Must live in Windsor, Ontario.

100% in office at the ARDC. Not remote.

Must be able to travel to the US for occasional meetings.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience in vehicle dynamics simulation, preference to using ADAMS/Car and or CarSim. Any experience in SAE or Capstone projects related to Vehicle Dynamics will be taken in account as experience.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Must have a valid driving license
  • Ability to travel to the USA for meetings.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate activities with other functional group.
  • Comprehensive understanding of vehicle dynamics theory and application
  • Must have competency with test and simulation techniques associated with Suspension, Steering system kinematics and compliance as well as full vehicle ride and handling.
  • Experience in computer programming and other automated data analysis tools (Matlab, Simulink, Python, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
  • Technical aptitude for creation or analysis of objective test methods, metrics, and analysis techniques.
  • Experience in the Driving Simulator environment,
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong Data analytical skills and the ability to interpret data for senior management reviews
  • Experience with VI CarRealtime, VI DriveSim and SimWorkbench
  • Self-motivated, with good project planning skills
  • Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Driving Client’s Vehicle required
  • Be able to travel to the US
