About Us


The Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects (ICCE) is an Indigenous-founded, Indigenous-led, and exclusively Indigenous-serving organization that supports Indigenous communities in addressing cumulative effects through a Two-Eyed Seeing approach. Our primary objective is to build and enhance the technical and scientific capacity of Indigenous communities across Canada, based on the values of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities. As a resource, we provide funding for community-led projects, share knowledge, and link Indigenous communities together, working towards intergenerational decision-making and partnership building.

You are passionate about creating intuitive and visually appealing user experiences for web and mobile applications. You possess a deep understanding of design principles and user-centered design methodologies. Your strong problem-solving skills translate complex concepts into user-friendly interfaces. You are a team player who appreciates collaboration and can effectively work with diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise.

About The Role


Your primary responsibilities will involve designing and developing user interfaces for web and mobile applications that support the Community Funding Program (CFP). You will work closely with the ICCE team to create visually appealing and user-friendly experiences, ensuring that the applications are accessible and engaging for Indigenous communities. You will also support the team, as necessary, with visual branding work, as they pertain to presentations, newsletters, etc., to maintain the branding, look, and feel of our organization.


Key Responsibilities


  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas
  • Collaborate with the ICCE team to understand user needs and design requirements
  • Conduct user testing and analyze feedback to improve the user experience
  • Design and develop intuitive user interfaces for web and mobile applications that support the CFP
  • Stay up-to-date with design trends and best practices to ensure the applications remain relevant and engaging
  • Keeping up to date with design trends and best practices to ensure that the applications remain relevant and engaging for the intended audience
  • In addition to your UI/UX design expertise, you will be responsible for conducting user testing and analyzing feedback to continually improve the user experience.

Requirements


  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in UI/UX design principles and user-centered design methodologies
  • Experience with REACT an asset
  • Proficient in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise
  • Familiarity with design systems and accessibility guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, portfolio included in application an asset
  • Experience with responsive design and cross-platform compatibility
  • 3-5 years of experience in UI/UX design and development, preferably in web and mobile applications
