Agilus is recruiting for a Manager, Maintenance, Construction, and Turnaround in the metals refining industry in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

The Manager, MCAT Services is accountable to lead all support trade activities at the Fort Site including long range resource planning and optimization, scheduling and execution, progress tracking and escalation, as well as continuous improvement efforts. The manager ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the MCAT support trades, functions, and central shops

Responsibilities:

• Develop continuous improvement strategies with the MCAT Service team.
• Ensure site projects and activities stay competitive through continuous improvement initiatives, participate in industry benchmarking, networking and auditing.
• Develop and implement a 1-2 year business plan for MCAT Services with a quarterly reviews and adjustment as required, which includes the accountability to ensure all MCAT Services milestones are met with planned high-quality deliverables
• Ensure MCAT Service tasks are planned and executed in compliance with safety and environmental standards and regulations; adhere to standards and procedures with the objective of zero harm to employees, the environment, and
• Organize and facilitate the MCAT Service project lookbacks, post investment review, and identification of future focus improvement areas.
• Develop, implement, and facilitate the use of Visual Management Boards to monitor, display and analyze performance against KPI’s. Develop and deploy strategies to monitor and increase team productivity and equipment availability
• Support direct reports, developing tactical implementation plans and procedures that align to MCAT Services strategic initiatives

Successful candidates will have:

• A degree in an Engineering discipline or journeyman trade certificate
• Working knowledge of EAM, Primavera, MS Office Suite and SharePoint will be considered an asset
• 10-15 years’ experience in turnaround management, maintenance execution and/or operations
• Working knowledge of manufacturing technical disciplines (engineering, millwright, instrumentation, electrical).
• Strategic planning (12-24 month horizon)
• Proven in Construction Management, with a Project Management Certification.
• Leadership skills and management experience with key maintenance roles which include project management, planning, scheduling, field coordination, and project controls leading large maintenance teams.
