Responsibilities

• Design of transmission line including line layout, structure selection, line configuration, loading analysis, conductor and overhead ground wire analysis and material selection
• Preparation of material quantity and estimates for transmission line
• Mentor junior designers
• Modelling, analyse and design transmission line structures using PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE
• Support business development and proposals including preparing Man hour estimate
• Transmission line modelling, profiling, tower spotting and preparation of required design calculations, reports and drawings including plan & profile drawings, structure data sheets, bill of materials and stringing charts using PLS-CADD
• Prepare designs that meet or exceed client expectations
• Prepare transmission line specifications, standards

What You Will Bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

• Ability to use design tools effectively
• Ability to work in a team environment as a contributing member of the team
• Knowledge of transmission line materials (structures, conductor, OPGW, insulators, hardware accessories and fittings)
• Ability to perform assigned work with minimum direction from engineering staff
• Proficient with software PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER
• Experience developing design drawings for transmission line structures

Required

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

• Professional Engineer registered with any Canadian Engineering Association, or the ability to obtain registration
• Degree in Structural/Electrical Engineering
