The position at a glance
The candidate for the Third Party Risk Management role within the BNP Paribas Operational Risk team at CIB Americas is responsible for providing independent oversight and strategic 2LOD guidance on the Third Party Risk Management domains across both direct and indirect areas of responsibility for the CIB Americas operating entities.
The day-to-day focus may vary depending on the requirements of the overall program across CIB Americas and include but not limited to: independent testing, review of projects, risk assessment, risk reporting, check and challenge, development of new tools and methodologies, etc.
In detail
  • Contribute to the successful execution of independent testing missions that are designed to evaluate TPRM risk identification and effective and sustainable mitigation
  • Support the preparation of various governance committees by gathering information, running reports and suggesting agenda topics that will provide senior management with proper oversight of TPRM risks
  • Initiate timely escalations to the direct and functional managers where appropriate
  • Collaborate with other 2LOD functions and teams across the Americas and Group on common priorities/projects
  • Establish himself / herself as the second line of defense subject matter expert for key stakeholders in matters related to Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) for CIB Americas
  • Effectively challenge all aspects of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) of the business units under our remit, provide recommendations and follow up on their implementation
  • Analyze risk data from various sources (e.g. external events, control deficiencies, risk register) to identify and measure levels of risk, concentration, trends and patterns and use it to assess the current control environment and recommend improvements where applicable
  • Perform check and challenge of 1LOD mitigation plans, risk acceptances, permanent control action and audit recommendations, produce and communicate risk opinions and maintain working papers to substantiate and ensure objective basis for the risk opinions
The Strengths And Skills That Will Help You Succeed
  • Ability to express views clearly and fluently both orally and in writing, adapting to the audience
  • 5 years of experience in Operational Risk, Third Party Risk Management, Audit, Compliance or Control role
  • Demonstrable sound judgement and critical thinking, be rigorous and thorough
  • Committed, motivated, innovative and capable of working autonomously and within a team
  • Negotiation skills as to agree with key stakeholders required actions
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, VBA is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Finance, Economics or Math discipline
  • Knowledge of the English is required
