Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking a Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Laval, QC facility and offers benefits from Day1.


What You’ll Do


Reporting to the Services Manager or Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing quality assembly and testing of the complete scope of products serviced by the District Operating Center.


Collaboration


  • Communicate and resolve schematic issues/concerns/errors with the Engineering team
  • Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork
  • Advises local leadership when required product assembly duration cannot be met
  • Develop internal relationships to assist with material specifications, quality control, purchasing, and delivery


Process


  • Perform time entry transactions through Eaton proprietary software systems
  • Provide timely, detailed and accurate reports on service work performed, product performance, and warranty liabilities to company expense and time allocation
  • Expected to understand the order, drawing, material and volume seasonality as well as factory supplies
  • Coordinate the electrical safety glove – testing program, to ensure certification is maintained
  • Embraces and assists in the deployment of all corporate initiatives such as Lean (ie. 5S), MESH, EBS
  • Maintain all service equipment including all test equipment, tools issued to meet specifications including EBE, ISO requirements, etc. in good working condition and maintain sufficient inventory to respond to standard calls.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Participates in weekly review meetings and production planning with functional leadership, as applicable


Operations


  • Perform receiving of products at the site and prepare products for shipping
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Refurbishment of used parts and equipment along with scrapping of non-functional parts and equipment
  • Setup the equipment required for testing and perform testing of products
  • Complete sub-assembly and wiring of any product as assigned
  • Read and understand blueprint and schematics for assembly and troubleshooting
  • Visually check components and assemblies for electrical and mechanical defects
  • Assemble electrical products of all levels including motor controls, circuit breakers, etc. This includes all sub-assemblies to the component level and large-scale units


Qualifications


Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical, electrical and instrumentation technology
  • High school Diploma or equivalency post-secondary diploma (DEC) from an accredited institution
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with warehousing, material handling and industrial truck operation
  • Certified Technician.TP designation
  • 3 years experience in mechanical assembly, power and/or control wiring
  • Experience in basic testing and servicing electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable
