Quality Engineer
- Addresses and follows up on external customer concerns and Corrective Action Requests (such as those related to the GM PRR process and Ford QR process).
- Ensures timely, accurate, and safe completion of work assignments in accordance with company standards and applicable regulations/legislation.
- Reviews, approves, creates, and finalizes customer and supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
- Conducts internal audits in accordance with relevant standards.
- Supports the APQP process
- Possession of a post-secondary certificate/diploma or equivalent work experience
- This is a temporary to permanent opportunity.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field (including APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, AIAG Core Tools) within the automotive or manufacturing industry is required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and related programs (proficiency in quality software applications like OpenDMIS, Minitab, MPACT, Datamyte Quantum is a definite advantage)
- Advocates for the company's operational visions, values, and goals.
- Reviews and approves supplier PPAP’s
- Collaborates with the purchasing department to develop and evaluate supplier services, as well as address, follow up on, and close corrective actions.
- Assesses product results and communicates their suitability within the organization.
- Understanding of metrology
- Excellent communication skills
- Certification through the American Society for Quality Engineering is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and practical application
- Proficiency in IATF 16949 and customer-specific compliance criteria
- Analyzes Datamyte data and provides recommendations for process adjustments and improvements.
- Generates internal and external Corrective Action Requests (CARs), ensures timely resolution, and updates the CAR database system to ensure proper closure.
