Job Description
Quality Engineer


As directed by the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer is responsible for offering team guidance and active participation, creating, completing, and managing documentation, as well as internal and external communication related to quality matters.


  • Addresses and follows up on external customer concerns and Corrective Action Requests (such as those related to the GM PRR process and Ford QR process).
  • Ensures timely, accurate, and safe completion of work assignments in accordance with company standards and applicable regulations/legislation.
  • Reviews, approves, creates, and finalizes customer and supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
  • Conducts internal audits in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Supports the APQP process
  • Possession of a post-secondary certificate/diploma or equivalent work experience
  • This is a temporary to permanent opportunity.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field (including APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, AIAG Core Tools) within the automotive or manufacturing industry is required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and related programs (proficiency in quality software applications like OpenDMIS, Minitab, MPACT, Datamyte Quantum is a definite advantage)
  • Advocates for the company's operational visions, values, and goals.
  • Reviews and approves supplier PPAP’s
  • Collaborates with the purchasing department to develop and evaluate supplier services, as well as address, follow up on, and close corrective actions.
  • Assesses product results and communicates their suitability within the organization.
  • Understanding of metrology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Certification through the American Society for Quality Engineering is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and practical application
  • Proficiency in IATF 16949 and customer-specific compliance criteria
  • Analyzes Datamyte data and provides recommendations for process adjustments and improvements.
  • Generates internal and external Corrective Action Requests (CARs), ensures timely resolution, and updates the CAR database system to ensure proper closure.
