Teacher For Videogame Education Through Minecraft

Studio XP is a school that offers an introduction to the world of video game careers for individuals aged 8 to 18. The project is led by industry veterans (from Ubisoft, Square Enix, etc.), who believe that the current maturity and accessibility of tools allow for learning game creation from a young age.

Profile Sought

• To qualify for the job, you must be able to communicate fluently in French, our operating language, even if you seek to only teach English classes.
• The instructor will use Minecraft Java Edition to teach children aged between 8 and 12.
• We are searching for several teachers with experience in video games for virtual classes.
• The instructor will work part-time, between 2 and 12 hours per week.

Schedule and Locations

• We have multiple terms throughout the year (6 weeks each), as well as camps during the summer (1 week each). Classes last 2 ¼ hours.
• We provide flexible schedules. The number of hours worked per week varies based on the number of courses the instructor is responsible for, which is assigned at the start of every term.
• Most of the classes are conducted virtually.
• The instructor may update their availability between terms. We do not require constant availability; if you decide to take a long break, your contract will usually be kept active.
• For the upcoming school year, we have open schedules Wednesday and Thursday evenings, as well Saturday and Sunday at various times.

Teaching Approach

• All teaching materials are provided to the instructor; no preparatory work other than understanding of the broad concepts is required.
• The instructor will also have the support of our educational management and collaborate remotely with the team.

Required Skills

• You are dynamic, organized, and self-reliant.
• Although not required, prior experience in teaching/animation is a plus.
• Commands / command blocks

• You are familiar with Minecraft Java AND one or more of the following :
• You enjoy sharing knowledge with young individuals.
• MCreator
• Redstone (clocks / logic gates / elevators / autonomous systems)
