Plains is looking for a highly self-motivated individual to join our Crude and Condensate Supply group based in Calgary, Alberta. While reporting to the Manager, Crude and Condensate Supply, this role will be responsible for ensuring the profitability of the Supply purchase contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with previous commodity marketing and customer relationship experience to join a dynamic and proactive department at Plains. The successful candidate will exhibit a high level of professionalism and leadership skills while fostering external business relationships and playing a pivotal role in the commercial negotiations and trade transactions across Canada and the United States.


Responsibilities:


  • Managing customer expectations and requirements by providing market-based products, fundamentals and pricing;
  • Identifying and building relationships with key stakeholders in Canada;
  • Negotiating long and short-term purchases and sales with external counterparties in order to maximize profitability while working closely with the trading and optimization organizations within Plains;
  • Maintaining awareness and understanding of regulations and competitors impacting crude, their timelines, costs to determine potential opportunities for our business;
  • Identify and develop new initiatives and ventures to help grow the business; and
  • Managing and optimizing the retention of existing business and growing new business.
  • Identifying root causes of issues and developing action plans to resolve problems;
  • Working with the Trading, Sales, Scheduling, Business Development and Operations groups daily to ensure effective follow through on contracts


Qualifications:


  • Extensive network of producer relationships already established
  • Highly motivated with well-developed analytical, communication, leadership and negotiation skills;
  • Enjoys working with multiple priorities and tasks in a fast paced environment; and
  • Previous experience in preparing and delivering formal presentations to Executive and Senior Management as well as external customers;
  • Strong understanding of commodity pricing and macro and micro fundamentals
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.
  • Goal oriented and able to contribute as a team player;
  • Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Economics or Management with a minimum of 7 years related industry experience (Supply or Trading background preferred);
  • Strong business acumen with a knowledge base in Canadian crude and North American condensate markets;
