Reporting to the General Manager, this role will lead BioMedica Diagnostic’s supply chain functions to analyze business performance and create action plans to move the business in the direction set out by the company’s senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishes and reports financial measures and targets.
- Evaluates high quality suppliers, develops, and maintains strategic relationships/partnerships, and establishes and tracks supplier metrics. Develops plans to combine supply by targeting key suppliers and converting source of material.
- Develops work plans for maintaining inventory targets. Sets and measures success of annual cost savings and/or cost avoidance targets.
- Develops value-added vendor audit/certification program to meet product and quality system requirements.
- Ensures programs comply with SOP’s and team maintains compliance with all regulatory, safety, and legal requirements.
- Leads a group of employees focused on planning, negotiation, purchasing, and analysis of goods and services to ensure timely availability of resources required for production to maximize efficiency and effective customer order fulfillment.
- Supports new product development and transfer by providing procurement support, assisting in defining raw material specifications, scheduling pre-production activities, and updating the ERP system.
- Other responsibilities required to contribute to the company’s success.
- Responsible for being part of the hiring process, training, and leading the team contributing to all aspects of material functions.
Required Education and Competencies
- Adept in the use of ERP/MRP system
- Post-secondary education in business, supply chain, manufacturing, planning, project management or logistics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- SCMA training/certification would be an asset.
- Proven process-driven self-starter
- 5 or more years of supply chain/production/manufacturing/project and/or production management experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing team to ensure solutions can be identified and implemented quickly and efficiently.
