Superintendent - Innovative Construction

Forbes Bros Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent (full-time, permanent) to support our growing FB Connect Team in Alberta! This position will support crew members with the installation of electric vehicle charging stations for world renowned vehicle manufacturers. These projects will be mainly within, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba areas.

The Superintendent will be responsible to schedule and coordinate resources required in the day-to-day activities of construction on site. The successful incumbent will demonstrate attention to detail with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to meet multiple deadlines and priorities in a time efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
• Participate and engage in weekly Crew Leader meetings aimed towards improving overall company efficiency
• Assist with completion of material quantities and take-offs
• Mentor, train and improve new and existing employees
• Maintain daily paperwork such as timecards, production reports, tailboard reports, change order information, schedule updates and email correspondence to keep Work Leaders informed of onsite tasks
• Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
• Assist Project team with completion of project estimation/bidding as required
• Coordinate and schedule materials and services with vendors and subcontractors as required
• Assist with overseeing and supervising subcontractors who are required to be on site
• Assist Project Manager and Construction Manager with construction schedules
• Read, interpret and understand blueprints and drawings
• Meet and deliver on client set timelines
• Complete daily pre-trip inspections and weekly audits on assigned crew vehicles; ensure compliance to company and transportation standards
• Assist management with quarterly crew member reviews

What We Are Looking For

• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of Pre-Access D&A testing, presenting a valid Driver's License and an acceptable drivers abstract
• Minimum four (4) years of relevant civil construction or underground utilities experience
• Experience working in Hydro/Telecommunication, an asset
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Able to build strong relationships with employees and clients
• Minimum of three (3) years of related supervisory or leadership role
• Willing and able to travel to various project sites throughout BC, AB, SK, and MB for extended periods of time
• Able and willing to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
• Result oriented individual with the ability to effectively problem solve and manage multiple priorities in a timely manner
