Description
The Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library is looking for a detailed-oriented student to help with the conversion of our library collection to RFID technology.
Workplace: 5851 boul. Cavendish, City of Côte Saint-Luc. Parking is free.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday from 9:30am until 5:30pm. 35 hours/week.
By becoming an employee of the City of Côte Saint-Luc, you will be employed in a city with a dynamic team that offers its employees many benefits. You will have free access to the community aquatic center which has a training room, an indoor and outdoor pool, a game room, a tennis court, an ice rink and access to pedal boats at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Park. In addition, you will have access to the library which has a wide variety of books, and you can rent them for free.
Tasks & Responsibilities
As a city employee, you will make a real difference in providing excellent service to the citizens of Côte Saint-Luc.
  • Transfer the information encoded on the library barcode found on each item to the RFID tag.
  • Reshelve the book paying particular attention to the order and take out the next book
  • Reshelve any mis-shelved items.
  • Undertake any other related task.
  • Roll a mobile conversation station between library shelves removing books or audiovisual items sequentially and insert RFID tags into each library item (book, DVD, CD) using the RFID tag dispenser.
Qualifications
  • Excellent oral communications in both English and French
  • Currently a student in the program or a DEC in Information and Library Technologies.
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork skills
N.B. You may be required to take a competency exam.
