The Software Quality Assurance Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through rigorous testing and defect identification, tracking, prioritization, and resolution of those defects.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, attention to details, and passion for delivering high-quality software products. As a QA Tester, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, execute test plans, document test results, and contribute to the continuous improvements of the QA process.
Deliverables:
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements and specifications;
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automated scripts and frameworks; and
- Participate in test environment setup, including configuration and deployment of software components;
- Stay up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in software quality assurance and testing.
- Identify and report software defects, issues, and risks in a clear and concise manner using defect tracking tools:
- Work closely with the development team to reproduce and verify reported issues and track defect resolution progress;
- Continuously improve testing process methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness;
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts and project stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage;
- Maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test data, to ensure accuracy and relevance;
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to validate software functionality and its performance;
Qualifications:
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and project requirements;
- Proven experience in software testing and quality assurance, including test planning, test execution and defect management;
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices;
- Familiarity with version control systems (eg. Git) and continuous integration tools (eg. Jenkins).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail;
- Strong organizational and time management skills; with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously; and
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and communicate test results and issues;
- Must have foundation-level certification in QA such as ISTQB foundation, CSTE, CAST, CTFL, and CSQA;
- Ability to write and maintain automated test scripts;
- Proficiency in manual and automated testing techniques and tools;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of software development lifecycle activities;
- Familiarity with defect tracking systems and test management tools;
- University Degree or specialized College Diploma or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or related field;
