As An Engineer, You Will


  • Contribute to the development of automated test harnesses as necessary to ensure delivery of high-quality code.
  • Apply agile principles and methodology within the squad.
  • Completing any of the documentation required e.g. deployment, maintenance, support and business needs.
  • Maintain and ensuring high quality software, with accountability for production reliability and usage.
  • Contribute to creative problem solving that bring software designs to life.
  • Designing, coding, unit testing and integrating new features and functionality as defined by the Product Owner and team.
  • Build outstanding software solutions to drive our products, including prototyping, building, and testing new functionality.
  • Updating progress daily through the tracking tool (Jira) or Kanban board.


Responsibilities


  • Working closely with the Product Owner to refine the product backlog including providing initial estimates and actively participating with the weekly Look Ahead meetings.
  • Contribute in various investigative "Spikes" in order to mitigate technical uncertainty and risk.
  • Driving the participation in conceptualisation and brainstorming sessions to devise creative and innovative digital solutions. We need and value fresh ideas!
  • Partner with product managers, software engineers, and operations engineers to uncover difficulties and opportunities to deliver new business value through software.
  • Be part of initiatives to develop and improve standards and methodologies.
  • Apply organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to collaborate through creative abrasion.
  • Leverage strong verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes.
  • Production support: you will participate for 25% of your time through a weekly rotation. Respond quickly to P1/P2 and P3 production incidents and get them resolved to meet our timeline for recovery.


Requirements
  • Working with SOAP, REST, Microservices, and Event-Driven (Event Hub) services.
  • Experience with technologies such as: C# , .NET 4.7 and higher,.NET Core 3 or higher, ASP.NET, WEBAPI, Javascript, node JS.
  • Microsoft Azure Cloud Services such as Azure Kubernetes.
  • MS SQL Server.
  • 3 years+ related development experience preferred.
  • Agile delivery methods and related tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • The following are optional but are pluses:
  • Languages such as React/Redux, GraphQL
  • Analyze to help understand requirements.
  • Agile (SAFe) and DevOps principles, test-driven development.
  • GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, etc.
  • Unit testing frameworks, Postman, Jenkins, Terraform, GitHub etc. preferred.
  • Terraform, EventHub
  • Bachelor in computer science or equivalent.
  • Monitoring and logging tools like New Relic, Dynatrace, Devo.

Salary & Benefits


The annual base salary for this role is listed below.


Primary Location


Kitchener, Ontario


Salary range is expected to be between


$72,450.00 CAD - $134,550.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
