Position Overview:
LawDepot.com is currently expanding and looking to recruit a Software Developer in Edmonton, Alberta. Working with the Information Systems department, you will be responsible for the development of our core website application as well as supporting the transition of ASP.NET Framework applications into Vue 3 and ASP.NET Core. This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week with opportunities for a hybrid work schedule.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain existing solutions
- Transform business requirements into technical specifications
- Utilize best practices to code and implement exceptional solutions
- Reimplement ASP.NET Framework applications in Vue 3 and .NET Core
- Develop solutions for a large scale, eCommerce website and deliver code that creates an excellent experience for our users
- Perform all activities in the software development life cycle (Plan, Implement, Test, Document, Deploy, Maintain)
- Partner with other team members during Agile sprints to help collectively deliver great work
- Communicate progress updates to the team and all required stakeholders
- Collaborate with other developers by participating in code reviews, sharing knowledge, providing feedback, and brainstorming
- Build and maintain unit and integration tests
- Build new components for various parts of our web application
- Troubleshoot and develop fixes to resolve issues
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge with our core tech stack: C#, .NET (Core, Framework), TypeScript / JavaScript, SQL (Microsoft SQL Server)
- Post-Secondary Education in Computing Science or equivalent (ex. Information Systems Technology, Digital Media and IT)
- Write clean and efficient code that adheres to SOLID design principles
- Database (LINQ, Entity Framework Core)
- Git source code management
- Methodical problem-solving skills
- .NET Web APIs (or REST APIs)
- Familiarity with Agile processes would be an asset
- Aptitude to learn and grow
- Provide constructive feedback, and great technical suggestions during team discussions and planning meetings
- Flexible content and configuration systems driven by JSON and soft coding
- Unit testing frameworks (NUnit, xUnit, Selenium, Jest, Vitest)
- SCSS (or CSS, LESS, SASS), HTML, JSON
- Ability to plan, implement, test, and document software
- JavaScript frameworks: Vue 3 (preferred), Angular, React
