Software Architect, Demand Response Optimization

In this role, you will be tasked with developing and making strategic decisions regarding our demand response transportation optimization platform to align our products to global market needs as identified through engagement with internal and external customers and helping develop the product.

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Software Architect to join our Demand Response Optimization product solution team. In this role, you will be tasked with developing and making strategic decisions regarding our demand response transportation optimization platform to align our products to global market needs as identified through engagement with internal and external customers and helping develop the product. A successful candidate must be able to “see the big picture” and lead the architectural approach for software design, development, and product implementation that will allow us to modernize our optimization solutions for the people transportation market.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with optimization technologies and defining solution architecture with modern technology stacks and have a proven track record working collaboratively with both internal and external customers to identify and help prioritize solution needs. Candidates who have experience working with GIS technologies and mapping data will also be a plus, with experience in optimizing travel routing and travel times, geocoding, and/or working with real-time GIS data elements (e.g. traffic data) preferred.
Key Role Responsibilities

• Work with internal and external customers to understand their requirements and design a software solution that meet their needs.
• Ensure that software solutions are secure and reliable.
• Evaluate and incorporate third party solutions such as map data and traffic patterns into the software architecture to enhance the software performance and quality of solutions.
• Be able to articulate the business impacts of various technical approaches and present recommendations that support the product strategy.
• Contribute to the technology roadmap and lead the execution of the technology strategy for the Demand Response Optimization products.
• Lead the design, development, and testing of technical architecture for the modernization of our optimization platform with the goal of maximizing scalability and efficiency.
• Provide consultation and collaborate with product development to implement architectural updates or recommended changes for our optimization platform, as well as assist with hands-on development of product as needed.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in the software development industry and ensure that our software solutions continue to lead the industry.

Requirements And Skills

• Technically fluent in programming languages C# and C++, with familiarity in Python a plus.
• Familiarity with relational database management using SQL.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or 3 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Proven experience migrating legacy applications to modern technology stacks is a plus.
• Experience developing enterprise software.
• Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data mapping.
• 7+ years of professional software architecture, solution architecture, or enterprise software development experience.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS and/or Azure preferred) and with data network communication methods (HTTP methods preferred).
• Experience working with GIS technologies and mapping data is a plus.
• Experience working with API practices and development tools (e.g. OpenAPI/Swagger) is a plus.
• Experience working with architecture that enables hybrid cloud and on-premise sharing of data is a plus.
• Experience linking cross-functional applications between disparate business units and systems.

Special Conditions

• The position involves a low level of domestic travel, as well as occasional international travel.
