Volunteering Commitment: 5-10 hours per month

About SOSA:

SOSA is a not-for-profit organization that promotes a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the fields of architecture and design. Founded in 2021, SOSA represents the interests of South Asian architecture and design professionals in Canada. At SOSA, we strive to create a vibrant community that supports and empowers individuals to reach their full potential.

Role Overview:

SOSA is seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our team as a Social Media Content Creator. In this role, you will be the creative engine behind our social media platforms, while collaborating with a passionate group of professionals to plan and develop SOSA’s social media presence.

What You Will Do:

Designing and Curating: Designing, editing, and updating various forms of social media content – text captions, videos, and images, suitable for SOSA’s social media platforms – Instagram and LinkedIn.

Keeping the Buzz Alive: You will publish content regularly, following our well-planned social media content calendar. Consistency is key, and you'll be the guardian of our online rhythm!

Embodying the SOSA Spirit: As a brand ambassador, you'll ensure that every piece of content exudes our brand book's essence. Our identity is unique, and you will be the torchbearer of our vibrant personality across digital platforms.

Collaboration Extraordinaire: Join forces with our marketing team to create content that matters. Your magic combined with their insights will make sparks fly, engaging more hearts and minds in the world of architecture.

Event Wizardry: Team up with the Events crew to set objectives, tackle challenges, and make sure our events shine on social media.

Metrics Maven: Keep a watchful eye on social media and website metrics, using your insights to fine-tune strategies and keep SOSA at the top of its social game.

Who You Are:

  • Passionate about promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in architecture and design.
  • Proficiency in WordPress development not needed, but good to have!
  • Deep knowledge of social media trends, hashtags, and engagement strategy.
  • A Student or Professional with a background in architecture, design, marketing, or a related field. (Superhero Cape not required, but encouraged!!).
  • Ability to turn a concept into compelling content.
  • Flexible with juggling multiple tasks and projects.
  • Must be located in Canada.
  • Ability to work with creative tools like Canva, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Extensive knowledge of the following social media platforms - LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.


Time Commitment:

The time commitment for this position may vary depending on the Social Media Calendar and Events Schedule. We anticipate a flexible commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per month, which includes designing, coordination, social media use and event attendance.
