Job Description
Company Description

Dropbox is a special place where we are all seeking to fulfill our mission to design a more enlightened way of working. We’re looking for innovative talent to join us on our journey. The words shared by our founders at the start of Dropbox still ring true today.
Wouldn’t it be great if our working environment—and the tools we use—were designed with people’s actual needs in mind? Imagine if every minute at work were well spent—if we could focus and spend our time on the things that matter. This is possible, and Dropbox is connecting the dots.
The nearly 3,000 Dropboxers around the world have helped make Dropbox a living workspace - the place where people come together and their ideas come to life. Our 700+ million global users have been some of our best salespeople, and they have helped us acquire customers with incredible efficiency. As a result, we reached a billion dollar revenue run rate faster than any software-as-a-service company in history.
Dropbox is making the dream of a fulfilling and seamless work life a reality. We hope you’ll join us on the journey.

Team Description

Our Legal, Policy, Trust & Privacy teams help keep users and their stuff safe, protect Dropbox, counsel Dropboxers on challenging problems, and are always synced with the Dropbox teams they work with. We deal with novel issues every day while standing up for users and helping the company and product grow.

Role Description

As Dropbox’s Social Impact Program Manager, you will play a critical role in driving meaningful programs under our Social Impact & Sustainability Team’s pillars of Dropbox for Good (DfG), the Dropbox Foundation , and Sustainability. Your emphasis in particular will be on driving volunteer programs globally that maximize employee participation and engagement in our Virtual First environment.

You will work across Dropbox’s global studios and neighborhoods in close collaboration with our small but high performing existing team. You will help leverage the power of our people, product, and resources to make a difference in our communities. Your work will be critical to strengthen and support skills-based volunteering programs and activities by working with cross-functional teams and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and employee interest groups (ie. PlanetDBX) that support DfG and the Foundation’s human rights initiatives. You will also manage many nonprofit partnerships across the world.

The strength of your project management skills, community building, communications, and prior experience working with employee engagement programs and/or community initiatives, and your positive energy and passion for philanthropy will enable you to effectively advance Dropbox’s social impact priorities. You’ll get substantial visibility within the company and with leaders across teams. We are a small but mighty team and this is a dynamic role that will enable you to make a tangible impact. This role will report to our Director of Social Impact & Sustainability and will be based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities
  • Manage tools to track and report employee donation and volunteerism metrics for various internal and external audiences
  • Prepare and coordinate internal and external communications to highlight social impact stories that generate interest and participation across audiences
  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams such as Dropbox ERGs and employee interest groups (PlanetDBX), Virtual First, Hack Week organizers, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Internal Communications, Neighborhoods, Talent Brand, and Emerging Talent teams on special social impact initiatives.
  • Program management support for Dropbox Foundation’s programs (grants administration efforts) and product donation program
  • Represent Dropbox/Dropbox Foundation at social impact and philanthropic conferences, meetings, and events
  • Manage and execute company-wide employee engagement projects and events, such as global days of service known as “Impact Days” and Dropbox for Good, which focuses on skills-based volunteering and donations
  • Coordinate Dropbox’s disaster response program and manage social impact response

Requirements
  • Strong project management and cross-functional navigation skills to achieve results
  • Experience with (formal or informal) event planning; adept at building local community partnerships and coalitions; active community volunteer; experience with in-person and virtual events a plus
  • 3+ years relevant work experience, ideally corporate social responsibility experience focused on employee engagement or community programs (volunteering experience can also be considered); undergraduate degree that touches on international development/political science/social sciences/economics/social impact
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal); comfortable presenting to large groups; comfortable engaging on communication platforms (eg. Slack) and social media
  • Passionate about social impact and the role of corporations in being good private sector partners to affect change

Dropbox is an equal opportunity employer. We are a welcoming place for everyone, and we do our best to make sure all people feel supported and connected at work. A big part of that effort is our support for members and allies of internal groups like Asians at Dropbox, BlackDropboxers, Latinx, Pridebox (LGBTQ), Vets at Dropbox, Women at Dropbox, ATX Diversity (based in Austin, Texas) and the Dropbox Empowerment Network (based in Dublin, Ireland).
