Skilled Labourer - Carpentry

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Skilled Labourer in Carpentry for short term, temporary assignments. As a Skilled Labourer, you will work under the direction of our experienced carpenters and assist in the construction of commercial structures. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing job sites, handling tools and equipment, performing basic carpentry tasks, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of carpentry principles, possess excellent physical stamina, and demonstrate a strong work ethic.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Assist in framing, roofing, siding, flooring, and other carpentry activities as required.
• Transport and organize materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site.
• Measure and mark materials for cutting and assembly, ensuring accuracy and precision.
• Assist carpenters in the construction of commercial structures.
• Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently, following all safety protocols.
• Follow blueprints, sketches, and specifications to perform basic carpentry tasks such as cutting, shaping, and installing wood or other materials.
• Prepare job sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and other necessary equipment.
• Collaborate effectively with the construction team, following instructions and communicating progress or challenges.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in operating power tools and hand tools safely.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions and meeting deadlines.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
• Proven experience as a Skilled Labourer in Carpentry or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of basic carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
