Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and capable Skilled Laborer to join our team. The Skilled Laborer will play a vital role in various construction and maintenance projects by using their expertise in specialized trades. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in construction or a related field and be proficient in performing a range of skilled tasks to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Excellent housekeeping skills.
- Excellent hand tool and power tool experience (all tools are provided).
- Experience reading construction drawings, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Experience in mechanical mounting of components such as pumps, including precise alignment.
- Pipefitting/plumbing experience is a must. Most of our fitting is with CPVC/PVC and visible, so precision work is critical (training will be provided).
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced laborers on the team.
- Collaborate with other skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, to complete projects.
Requirements
- Trade certification or apprenticeship completion is a plus.
- Proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment relevant to the specific trade.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that may arise during projects.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proven experience as a skilled laborer in a construction or related field.
- Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and safety protocols.
- Attention to detail and precision in executing tasks.
