Who We Are:
- Manages and motivates the team to ensure positive employee relations and to promote individual objectives.
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with partners, clients, vendors, and sub-contractors to ensure attainment of assigned goals.
- Leads employee development and capacity building initiatives to ensure the company has the requisite skill sets to grow the current business and develop new business opportunities.
- Develops and implements short and long-term strategies for the future development and growth of the Resolute Bay operations.
- Maintains a strong public presence within the local business community and operational area by actively liaising with government agencies, business and economic development organizations, indigenous groups, elected officials, and the public.
- Development and implementation of schedules for inspection and preventive maintenance programs.
- Execution of subcontracts for the provisions of services and supplies.
- Implementation and championing of Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Management, Environmental and Risk Management programs.
- Investigates, interprets, evaluates, and recommends the feasibility of pursuing business opportunities within Resolute Bay and Nunavut for senior management review and approval
- Development and maintenance of project management processes, ensuring that all infrastructure and equipment are maintained in accordance with applicable regulations, project requirements and good industry practices.
- Represents the organization at industry and community associations.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a leadership role is required. The ideal candidate would be someone that has successfully run their own business.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Risk Assessment and Risk Management ability
- Demonstrable experience managing projects for government clients an asset
- Exceptional Project Management skills
- The successful candidate should hold a university degree in engineering or a related field
- A sound knowledge of and appreciation for HS&E and QA best practices
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, organization, and time management skills
- Strong client relationship management skills
