Position Summary:

Reporting to the Shipping Manager and working closely with Production, the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor is responsible for an effective and efficient shipping/ receiving and Order Picking department. The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for following established food safety and quality procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise Shipping, Inventory and Order Picking Staff (includes authorizing overtime and other requests).
• Manage CHEP incoming and outbound.
• Manage the order picking activities, ensure orders are filled to customer specs, the orders are accurate, filled as per cut off times, shorts verified with management.
• Provide leadership, communication, and motivation for staff.
• Ensure all paper is correctly documented and provided to the appropriate personnel.
• Enter inventory of MRP.
• Direct and maintain first in, first out rotation of product in fresh/frozen storage and ensure the freezer and storage areas meet company housekeeping standards.
• Monitor aged inventory and work with Materials Manager locate/stage and flag ageing inventory.
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of records for tracking warehousing and shipping activities for analysis and improvement.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Continuous improvement.
• Back up for shipping Manager.
• Liaise with Senior Production Manager, Shipping manager, Maintenance Manager, QA Manager, Production Managers and Supervisors, and maintain effective relationships with other departments, providing input on matters related to shipping, receiving, order picking, inventory accuracy and control and storage.
• Reconcile, supervise, and participate in inventory counts of the cooler, freezer, and dry storage.
• Manage shipping and receiving activities (including raw materials, customer orders, all pallet usage, and product returns and all ingredients and packaging supplies) to ensure the most accurate, timely, efficient, and economical utilization of storage facilities.
• Train the Trainer for all in-house Power equipment.
• Able and willing to occasionally adjust shift to provide supervision on dayshift, nightshift and weekends when needed.
• Administer company policies on discipline and address complaints in a timely and respectful manner.

Requirements

• Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
• Strong emphasis on computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate attention to details.
• Strong mathematical and organization skills.
• Previous supervisory experience in food manufacturing would be an asset.
• Effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflicts.
• Ability to assess, work under pressure and prioritize.
• Continuous learner and willingness to embrace change.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in sshipping and/or receiving supervisor role required.
• Ability to use and learn Warehouse Management System.
• High level of integrity and work ethic.
• Possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Degree or Diploma in Business or Management or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Certified on all Power equipment.
