Overview


The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of these activities at Dundas which is Lafarge's largest operation in Eastern Canada. The Supervisor works with our team of front end loader operators to deliver our aggregate product to our customer in a safe and timely fashion with a focus on quality. In addition, they will be responsible for receiving goods and management of the maintenance and production stores inventory. A primary focus is to lead the health and safety of the department. The Supervisor will lead by example supporting alignment with all site departments which include maintenance, production, and quality control.


Responsibilities


  • Maintenance of stores facilities and stores mobile equipment
  • Responsibility for the inventory reorder process
  • Ensure safe unloading and storage of materials and parts
  • Ensure parts identification and labeling.
  • Responsible for maintaining security of stores inventory to prevent loss from theft.
  • Supervises the ongoing shipping of aggregate at the quarry
  • Handle damaged freight disputes and delivery errors with Vendors
  • Ensure timely receipt of all materials and parts
  • Implementation of Parts and Service Agreements
  • Inventory accuracy and cycle count process
  • Vending Machine and Vendor managed inventory coordination
  • Order consumables and inventories


Relationship With Others


  • Works with the Safety Representatives and JHSC to develop and maintain a culture of safety
  • Reports to Production Manager
  • Works shipping and scales to ensure efficient management of inventories and truck shipments
  • Supports all site departments as required (Production, Maintenance, and Quality)
  • Works closely with Safety, Quality, Land and Environmental personnel as required


Specific Accountabilities


  • Supports weekly operations production and maintenance tracking
  • Annual safety contribution and participation in all leading indicators
  • Customer Focus: Shipping & Quality KPI’s, Manage Shipping and Stockpiling staff
  • Production: Manufacturing KPI’s, Maintenance management, Daily production sheets & meeting, Primary Crusher report, Blasting, Downtime reports
  • Labor: Shift Schedules, People Development and Management, Union Agreements
  • Safety: Daily Huddles, FLRA’s, HI’s, VPC, Near Miss, MVA’s, FA’s, MI’s, LTI’s, Safety Inspections
  • Monthly financial and operational performance reviews
  • Land: Dust and Noise control
  • Financial reviews
Dimensions:


  • 5 million tonnes of aggregate production
  • Reports to the Production Manager
  • 24/7 Operation (some weekends required)


Qualifications


Education & Work Experience:


  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • An undergraduate degree, college diploma, or equivalent field experience
  • A background including computer skills
