An examination of the nature and function of the study of literature. Children's Literature as a Foundation of Literate and culture in elementary schools. This course is designed for experienced teachers who will develop programs, select texts, explore interpretations, and consider implications and applications for schools.

Sessional dates of appointment: September 2023 to December 2023
Salary: As of September 01, 2021, the minimum stipend is $8,489.67 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course. Salary may be prorated based on the appointment percentage. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum qualifications: Candidates should possess a doctorate degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrated currency and mastery of the subject area. Mastery may be demonstrated, but not limited to scholarly publications establishing expertise in the area.
Preferred qualifications: Over and above the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to individuals with prior graduate teaching experience in this area.
Description of duties: Prepare, organize, and teach this course; be available to students seeking assistance between classes; evaluate and provide students with feedback on their work.
