Job Description

Technology Architect – Senior (Health Services Cluster, Kingston/Toronto ON) – 2023-05-15 to 2024-04-05 ($118/hr)


Security Level: CRJMC

Candidates needs to be in office- 3 days in a week

Must haves:


  • Develops and obtains approval for detailed plans and resource estimates for large- scale and complex architecture projects and/or components of other projects with architecture elements.
  • 10 yearsof exp.
  • Health care expis required
  • Ability to complete complex technology and information architecture reviews and assessments, development and/or support projects, to support new and changed enterprise priorities and initiatives, and client clusters’ and their clients’ information architecture and/or business needs.
  • Extensive knowledge in security and privacy requirements as they relate to technology architecture and data elements
  • Knowledge and experience creating architecture artefacts such as logical and information data models
  • Experience withComputer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools
  • Leads and or/participates in highly sensitive technologyand information architecture investigations.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsibilities also include the identification of relevant information and the determination of the environment, which will be used for development.
  • Develops, recommends, implements, and manages the technical architecture (hardware, software, database and communications) which will be used for all or specific applications in a large, distributed cross-platform environment.


General Skills:

  • Experience with middleware and gateways
  • Experience developing, recommending, implementing and managing technical architecture
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge and experience designing processes around ITIL and is able to guide others using this methodology
  • Extensive experience with at least three different platforms, operating systems, environments, database technologies, and communications protocols
  • Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models)
  • Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large systems environments
  • Leadership experience in the development and implementation of technical architectures at the specified experience level
  • Experience translating business requirements into reporting needs
  • Knowledge of performance considerations in different environments
  • Awareness of emerging technologies, trends and directions
  • Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development and implementation of applications
  • Experience preparing conceptual, logical and/or physical processes and data models
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
  • Experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and other software tools such as project management tools


DesirableSkills:

  • Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models) based on Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes and practice
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Content Management (Open Text ECM applications)


NOTE

This position is currently listed as "Hybrid" as consultants may be required to work partly in the physical workplace and partly remotely. The details of this arrangement will be at the Hiring Manager's discretion.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements


Technology Architecture Experience

·Defines, identifies and describes technical and information architectural requirements with clients, and obtains I&IT management approval.

·Develops and obtains approval for detailed plans and resource estimates for large- scale and complex architecture projects and/or components of other projects with architecture elements.

·Ability to complete complex technology and information architecture reviews and assessments, development and/or support projects, to support new and changed enterprise priorities and initiatives, and client clusters’ and their clients’ information architecture and/or business needs.

·Researches, develops, implements and maintains technology and information architectural policies and standards, as approved by management

·Ensures integration with related corporate and client cluster policies and standards, and incorporation of best practices in the industry.

·Provides general and situation-specific technology architecture interpretation advice and expertise to other project and/or enterprise level I&IT project teams, client management and staff, cluster clients, and external contractors.

·Leads and or/participates in highly sensitive technology and information architecture investigations.

·Develops solution and technology architecture specifications for RFPs and participates in assessing bids and negotiating contracts/SLAs with service providers and vendors

·Demonstrated experience developing checkpoint deliverables and creating necessary artefacts for checkpoints

·Knowledge and experience creating architecture artefacts such as logical and information data models

·Knowledge and experience creating business architecture documentation

·Knowledge and experience creating solution architecture documentation

·Extensive knowledge in security and privacy requirements as they relate to technology architecture and data elements


Technical Skills and Experience

·Experience with Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools

·Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices

·Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
