Senior Systems Administrator Jobs

On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to provide hands-on analysis and support for a diverse range of services within their organization. This role involves installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of servers, databases, applications, local and wide area networks, storage, peripherals, security, and associated systems. As a crucial team member, you will also contribute to evaluating the organization's IM/IT needs, determining system requirements, and providing input into our IM/IT architecture and plans for hardware, software, network, systems, infrastructure, and cloud-based platforms. Additionally, you will play an active role in maintaining the security of the IM/IT systems, data, and networks.

Experience:

· Our ideal candidate will possess expertise in the following areas:

· Linux Administration with a preference for RHEL or RHCSA (experience with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Oracle Solaris / UNIX certification would also be considered)

· Monitoring and maintaining relational databases, data analysis, and report writing tools, preferably on DBMS such as MySQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server (experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle DB2, or MongoDB would also be considered)

· Clustered, fault-tolerant / high availability environments (HCI)

· Cloud-based platform administration or integration (or a strong desire to learn) is considered an asset

· IT Service Management, with ITIL v3 or above considered as an asset

Qualifications:

· The successful candidate should meet the following criteria:

· Hold a Computer Science degree from an accredited academic institution

· Have a minimum of two years of relevant experience supporting a core IT infrastructure (five years preferred); OR

· Possess an equivalent Technology diploma with five years of related experience; AND

· Hold a relevant technology certification, such as CompTIA and/or CIPS designations; OR

· Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
