As an Engineer, you will work as part of a global team supported by our business and architecture partners to help us collaboratively develop and deliver industry leading technology solutions that drive lululemon’s business goals. This role specifically is in the Portfolio, Applications, Commerce and Transactions team which supports lululemon’s Digital Commerce & Omni-channel fulfillment experience across geographies with varying technologies. This team is also in the process of transforming a traditional monolith architecture to a cloud native service architecture.
A Day In The Life
As a Senior Software Engineer focusing on creating seamless digital commerce guest experiences, you will bring a high level of technical knowledge as well as strong mentoring abilities. The work that you will do will be impactful and highly visible as our Digital Commerce team continues to evolve and scale our next generation of commerce microservices consumed by multiple teams within lululemon. You’ll have the opportunity to set direction for web engineers in the Commerce space, and partner with the Micro Web App Platform team to implement technologies like module federation into the commerce web application.
You will be counted on as a leader in your technology space, as you contribute to all areas of development and operations (pre-production to production). Senior Engineers take production readiness and performance personally and help drive continuous improvement. You will be part of a day-to-day production release team and perform on-call support functions as needed. You will be considered a primary caretaker of the production system(s) you work on and focus on how your product(s) are delivered and how to optimize them for efficiency, security, resiliency, and reliability.

• Provide an escalation point and participate in on-call support rotations
• Actively monitor key metrics, reports on trends, and make improvement recommendations
• Conduct research to aid in product development and tools selection
• Contribute to engineering automation, management or development of production level systems
• Facilitate an Engineering Community of Practice for your product(s)
• Review product roadmaps and guide intake acceptance for a set of production systems
• Own reliability for a defined set of production systems
• Partner with project management to deliver status and performance updates
• Own the delivery lifecycle for a defined set of production systems
• Main contributor for product roadmaps and reliability strategy

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands on experience providing operational production support for cloud-based applications utilizing modern architecture.
• 8+ years of engineering experience
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud technologies such as Lambdas, EKS, S3, DynamoDB, SNS, CloudWatch etc.
• Completed Bachelor’s degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Software Architecture preferred; candidates with substantial and relevant industry experience are also eligible
• 3+ years experience with GraphQL, React, and node.js services, experience with Next JS or micro front end a plus.
• Experience integrating web frontends with complex multi-tier applications
• Experience developing and supporting solutions for retail or eCommerce businesses where guest experience is a guiding principle.
• Experience with SEO, AB testing, telemetry, and delivery of functional features to support exceptional guest facing experiences.
• Advanced understanding of web technologies (HTTP, SSL, Headers, Cookies, TCP, Caching)
• Knowledge of CI/CD principles and best practices.
• Ability to assume the leadership/mentorship of Engineers
• Strong understanding of microservice architecture & knowledge of challenges related to building cloud-native apps
