Department: Operations Engineering Area


Overview


Our Gas Services Business Unit (GBU), is looking for a Projects Engineer to support the following Pembina Gas Infrastructure (PGI) districts:


  • Central District
  • East Straddle District


The Projects Engineer reports to the Supervisor, Operations Engineering. The Engineer will be part of an engineering team and will lead projects at the facilities and field gathering systems in two districts; this position will be based out of the Grande Prairie Office.


Responsibilities


  • Lead engineering design, estimating, project planning, scheduling, and equipment sourcing;
  • Promote an inclusive workplace.
  • Follow Pembina’s Management of Change (MOC) process and Project Delivery & Governance Lifecycle framework (PDGL);
  • Participate in knowledge sharing discussions with operations engineering team;
  • Manage projects up to approximately $5 million in value from initiation through implementation to close-out;
  • Ensure project deliverables are technically accurate, adhere to project goals, constraints and Pembina standards;
  • Promote an organizational culture that ensures safe, compliant, and reliable operation of assets;
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to create scope of work documents, project plans, drawings, RFPs and other project deliverables;
  • Apply technical and problem-solving capabilities to improve projects and support business growth opportunities;
  • Adhere to cost and schedule commitments;
  • Manage 3rd party engineering consultants, fabrication facilities, vendors and construction service providers through the development of projects;
  • Maintain registration in good standing with APEGA, APEGS, and APEGM;


Job Qualifications


  • Possess advanced computer skills, analytical capabilities and the ability to problem solve;
  • Capability of working in a fast-paced environment and apply sound engineering judgement to provide operations team with recommendations;
  • Energetic, resilient, collaborative, and goal oriented
  • Knowledge in ASME, CSA, and regulatory codes related to the operation of oil and gas facilities and field gathering systems;
  • Previous experience in engineering design is an asset.
  • Demonstrate behavior that exhibits flexibility to competing priorities and adaptive to changes;
  • 5 + years of experience in natural gas processing is ideal but consideration will be given to engineers in training;
  • Registered professional engineer or engineer in training in good standing with a University degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering;
  • Excellent communication with a customer service focus demonstrating influence to ensure business requirements are met;
  • Previous experience in supporting a processing facility is an asset.


This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You will also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.


The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Grande Prairie, AB.


Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
