Make an impact with our Forensics & Litigation Support team as a Senior Manager. This diverse team of professionals combines forensic accounting and investigative expertise to protect clients’ assets and reputation. As a trusted advisor, you’ll manage investigations and litigation matters in dispute.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status and seek clarification on discrepancies where applicable
  • Think strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks
  • Execute transactions through the provision of client services including planning, budgeting, scheduling and coordinating engagements
  • Carry out reports of highly detailed, meticulous engagements and contribute to deliverables
  • Facilitate collaboration with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality and deadlines
  • Attend internal MNP courses to further develop knowledge around performance improvement
  • Some travel may be required
  • Execute investigative plans on sensitive litigious matters and objectively analyze complex financial matters
  • Identify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value
  • Promote MNP advisory services through the delivery of presentations, writing articles, facilitating workshops or participating in community activities
  • Execute the development of independent detailed expert financial reports
  • Analyze financial data, examine documents, conduct in-depth research and lead Forensic engagements such as contract disputes, asset misappropriation and conflicts of interest
  • Develop, coach, and train team members towards professional and personal development
  • Perform needs assessments and lead the collection, development, research and analysis of data (through website research, report review, interviews, focus groups and surveys)
  • Responsible for the execution of client engagements assisting fraud or wrongdoing investigations, litigation support and proactive risk assessments with a wide variety of clients, industries, and disputes
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Lead forensic accounting engagements such as calculating and analyzing economic loss claims, investigating wrongdoing allegations, preparing financial analysis, and calculating damages
  • Maintain high quality control by reviewing work done from other team members for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team members
  • Network and take a leadership role in the local professional, business, and community while raising awareness of MNP and looking for new business development opportunities
  • Promote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellness
  • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry
  • Lead project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
  • Leverage team appropriately to ensure proper documentation is prepared for the client and procedures relating to the file are followed accordingly
  • Conduct formal, written annual performance reviews
Skills And Experience
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Ability to achieve Secret level Government of Canada security screening
  • Experience in business and practice development is considered an asset
  • Strong computer literacy including advanced skills in Excel, Microsoft Word,
  • Some travel may be required
  • Completion of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation or Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) designation.
  • 5+ years of experience in a public accounting; previous experience in advisory or consulting is considered an asset
  • Experience in Forensic Accounting or Internal Audit is mandatory
