Innovation Saskatchewan supports Saskatchewan’s research community and technology sector to create economic growth and diversity. As the central agency for the Government of Saskatchewan, Innovation Saskatchewan is responsible for implementing the province's innovation priorities and growing the technology sector. Innovation Saskatchewan develops policies and programs and conducts activities that assist in the implementation of research & development, science and technology for the province. This includes developing and operating Saskatchewan’s research and technology parks in Saskatoon and Regina.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Vice President of Economic Development & Research Investment, the Senior Manager, Ecosystem Development proactively engages with stakeholders in the tech sector and innovation ecosystem to create valuable partnerships, programs, and collaborative initiatives. If you’re passionate about driving growth in Saskatchewan's technology sector and have a knack for building relationships that drive exceptional outcomes, this job may be right for you. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Representing Innovation Saskatchewan at relevant community events and championing Saskatchewan's tech and innovation ecosystem.
- Fostering relationships within the tech sector and innovation ecosystem, including tech companies, incubators, educational institutions, government bodies, economic development agencies and industry associations.
- Providing constructive leadership on a daily basis and during times of change.
- Contributing to the implementation of Innovation Saskatchewan’s strategy, sharing its mission, values, and program offerings.
- Staying abreast of developments in other jurisdictions that could impact Saskatchewan's competitiveness.
- Promoting positive relations and service excellence between teams and departments, encouraging cross-team collaboration toward agency goals.
- Offering guidance to tech startups through pathfinding support.
- Actively collaborating with key stakeholders to identify and pursue growth opportunities for the tech sector.
- Providing ongoing monitoring of trends, gaps, and opportunities, and identifying opportunities to better leverage the agency’s tools (e.g. programs, research parks) for the benefit of key stakeholders.
- Leading the delivery and support of programs aligned with Innovation Saskatchewan's strategic direction.

- 5-7 years of experience in economic development preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, thriving in a dynamic environment.
- Dedication to fostering a flexible and supportive work environment.
- Unwavering integrity, ethical decision-making, and comfort with ambiguity.
- A talent for forging strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office software.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or commerce preferred.
