Your Opportunity
Our National office is looking for a Senior Learning Consultant to join the Learning & Development team. This role can be based out of any of our Canadian offices while owning the following responsibilities:
  • Leads & participates on assigned projects, including developing detailed work plans, compiling/leading project teams and providing regular status updates
  • Play an active role in driving and facilitating the advancement of our Learning Business Partners function, ensuring its optimal development and capacity to deliver highly impactful learning solutions for the benefit of the firm.
  • Provide input into BDO’s learning & development strategy, priorities, & initiatives
  • May facilitate various learning programs
  • Work closely with business leaders, SMEs, and key stakeholders to understand business priorities, identify learning outcomes, and provide learning advice as a subject matter expert.
  • Deliver comprehensive performance consultations as a trusted advisor to the business
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge on current practices and emerging trends in instructional technology, educational policy, learning measurement, and blended and online learning
  • Design, develop, and deliver integrated learning programs based on industry leading adult learning principles to enhance the learner experience and enable performance outcomes
  • Analyze and evaluate key learning programs and initiatives to enable achievement of firm, professional, & personal success
  • Positions internal facilitators/SMEs for learning program delivery success
  • Scope learning and development projects and work closely with the Design & Development and Technology & Measurement teams within L&D to ensure learning solutions are planned and executed smoothly and successfully while offering an exceptional client experience to the business.
  • Work closely with business leaders to strategize and plan for the design and delivery of innovative learning solutions within BDO’s learning curriculum.
  • Work with our L&D and broader Human Resources teams as a trusted advisor to deliver the BDO Talent Experience: Enabling Firm, Professional, and Personal Success by successfully managing end-to-end program design and delivery.

Your Experience And Education
  • You have the ability to establish and maintain trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders/teams and collaborate to achieve defined outcomes
  • You have expert-level capabilities in performance consulting and instructional design to plan, design, and implement strategic firm-wide learning and development programs
  • You have a minimum 5 years of experience in a Learning Advisor/Consultant role, with experience managing organization-wide programs
  • You have a curious mindset, strong critical thinking, and sense-making skills to continuously drive innovation in our learning and performance practices
  • If you have experience in the professional services industry, it will be considered an asset
  • You have experience managing multiple projects with extensive coordination and a high attention to detail
  • You have working knowledge of learning management systems (LMSs), eLearning authoring tools, and reporting dashboards as part of program reviews to track program KPIs
  • You have expertise leveraging innovative learning technologies, such as social, mobile, micro-learning, and gamification
  • You have a relevant university business degree, preferably in Adult Education, Human Resources, or similar
  • You have strong group facilitation and presentation skills at all levels
  • You have proficient knowledge of MS Office software applications
