$190,000 - $250,000 base salary

THE ROLE
As the Senior Applied Research Scientist, you'll join the passionate & mission-driven Perception team. The team is looking for someone with exceptional development/research skills in the field of Computer Vision and Deep Learning. A strong candidate will be an effective leader, a strong collaborator, and adept at operating in a dynamic research and development environment.
Some things you'll be tasked with are:
- Write maintainable, reusable code, leveraging test-driven principles to develop high-quality modules.
- Provide leadership, collaboration, and mentorship to the research and development team within the Computer Vision and Deep Learning group
- Research & development of advanced product-critical computer vision components such as instance segmentation, point cloud completion & mesh reconstruction
- Utilize your 3D point cloud experience for instance segmentation pipeline research, optimization, pose estimation, pose refinement, camera calibration, etc.
- Support overall research, engineering, and architecture efforts
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will be a PhD grad with extensive publications in top-tier conferences related to Deep Learning with 3D data (PointClouds/DepthMaps), Pose Estimation (DL-based), and/or Instance Segmentation (Leveraging Few/Zero-shot).
The candidate should be an Applied Research expert in CV & DL with
- Extensive Research experience in Deep Learning with TensorFlow or PyTorch
- ROS, SLAM, and C++ are a plus but not required
- Expertise in Deep Learning/Computer Vision with specialization in at least one of the following domains: Object Detection, Instance Segmentation, Pose Estimation, Pose Refinement, 3D point cloud, object detection, Camera Calibration
- Proficient in Python, TensorFlow, Pytorch, OpenCV
- Extensive experience in Deep Learning targeted to product development
- Published in a top-tier CV or robotics conference (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICRA) or an AI conference with a relevant paper (ICLR, ICML).
- PhD or MS in a related field
