As a Senior Actuarial Analyst on the Reserving and Reinsurance (R&R) team, you will be part of the Finance Team at Allstate Canada Group (ACG). In R&R, we focus on the reserve analysis process and accurate posting of reserves while working closely with other areas such as Claims and Finance in order to make sure we are making the right decisions for the company and taking full advantage of each area’s expertise. You will also be working on providing data and analysis to support the reinsurance strategy of the company.


We are looking for a confident individual with strong analytical abilities, prioritization, time management and communication skills. An ambitious individual who is eager to influence and drive the results for the organization would be a great fit for this role.


Accountabilities

  • Support Finance for explanation of monthly drivers and quarterly regulatory reporting.
  • Assist in the Annual Preparation of the Appointed Actuary’s Report.
  • Collaborate with the Business Planning team for the annual planning process and forecast updates.
  • Ensure efficient and effective completion of quarterly valuations and collaborate with Claims department to identify pressure points and drivers of the results.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to the Reserving and Planning processes.
  • Participate in the Audit process (Internal, External).
  • Recommend and prepare bookings of IBNR for the quarterly review.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years Property and Casualty experience in an analytical position, preferably in reserving.
  • Must have completed 4 to 6 exams of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • Strong knowledge of CIA Standards of Practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Efficient at using Microsoft applications. ResQ experience an asset.
  • Good knowledge of actuarial reserving and insurance company operations and products.
  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or a relevant discipline.
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable presenting recommendations to various audiences.
