Senior Accountant Jobs

Fiscal Talent, on behalf of our client, a leading Disability Tax Credit and Financial Services company, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. This role is based in Port Moody, BC, and offers an opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company and contribute to their mission of making a meaningful impact on the lives of Canadians.

Responsibilities and Activities:

Financial Management:

• Supervise the Accounts Receivable (AR) function.
• Maintain payroll records and process bi-weekly payroll.
• Oversee and manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) process.

General Accounting:

• Prepare monthly financial statements for review.
• Perform bank and month-end reconciliations.
• Prepare and update working papers.

Team Leadership and Support:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial operations.

Compliance and Reporting:

• Prepare financial reports and assist with financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.

Requirements:

• Excellent proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
• Prior experience in overseeing AP, AR, payroll, and general accounting functions.
• Experience in direct-to-consumer collections and managing difficult clients is an asset.
• Proven experience (4+ years) in Full-Cycle Accounting.
• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• CPA designation or equivalent qualification is highly preferred.
