Fiscal Talent, on behalf of our client, a leading Disability Tax Credit and Financial Services company, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. This role is based in Port Moody, BC, and offers an opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company and contribute to their mission of making a meaningful impact on the lives of Canadians.
Responsibilities and Activities:
Financial Management:
- Supervise the Accounts Receivable (AR) function.
- Maintain payroll records and process bi-weekly payroll.
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) process.
General Accounting:
- Prepare monthly financial statements for review.
- Perform bank and month-end reconciliations.
- Prepare and update working papers.
Team Leadership and Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Prepare financial reports and assist with financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.
Requirements:
- Excellent proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Prior experience in overseeing AP, AR, payroll, and general accounting functions.
- Experience in direct-to-consumer collections and managing difficult clients is an asset.
- Proven experience (4+ years) in Full-Cycle Accounting.
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- CPA designation or equivalent qualification is highly preferred.
