About The Opportunity
  • Collect data, perform data entry and maintain other relevant information as required by NShIS, Electronic Medical Record (EMR)and generate statistical reports as required
  • Book clinic dates in collaboration with the collaborative practice teams
  • Perform general reception duties, including telephone contact with public and staff
  • Organize patient charts, pick up charts from health records and complete transcription related to patient care
  • Work with minimal supervision, using sound judgment to make decisions
  • Complete client bookings and registrations for collaborative team clinics
  • Ensure complete and accurate billing for the practice
  • Perform general clerical duties such as filing, photocopying and maintaining sufficient inventory of supplies
  • Receive and respond to inquires and requests, both on the phone and in person, exercising sound judgment, courtesy and confidentiality
  • Assist with the planning and organization of various meetings as requested by management team
  • Provide program assistance which may include brochure development, planning and coordination of launches, educational sessions and other special events as related to various projects
  • Responsible to hold in confidence all matters pertaining to clients, staff and the NP Service
  • Assist with tracking expenditures through the organization of expenses in Excel documents as requested
  • Transcribe and distribute minutes of various committees and working groups as requested by management team
  • Other related duties as assigned
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
  • Demonstrates an awareness of organizational and community needs
  • One year recent experience in office administration required
  • Grade XII required
  • Background in health care preferred
  • Graduate of a recognized office administration program required
  • Fluent in French and English preferred
  • Certificate in medical terminology required
  • Physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as working flexible hours, dealing with stressful situations and travelling within the District and to other areas as required
  • Computer literacy including demonstrated skills in EMR, Word, Excel and Publisher
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute with accuracy

Hours
  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Permanent full-time position; 70 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and Incentives
$20.15 - $21.98 hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
