About The Role
Intact Financial Corporation (IFC) is the largest provider of property and casualty (P&C) insurance in Canada and a leading provider of specialty insurance in North America. Constantly expanding at a global scale, the company requires sustained innovation, speed, and flexibility from its IT sector.
We in the Cloud Operations team are looking for a Scrum master who will guide and support the team to achieve maximum velocity and sustainability as a DevOps unit. Through creative and efficient organization of work, this team should be at the forefront both at the technological and human level. Therefore, the Scrum master is also expected to keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.
Responsibilities
  • Coaches the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge and communicates effectively, both internally and externally working within the Scrum team.
  • Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
  • Works with Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams.
  • Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
  • Gets team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.
  • Guide and coach the Scrum Team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers.
  • Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization.
  • Resolves team impediments with other Scrum Masters and collaborators to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization.
Education, Experience, And Licensing Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of product or project development experience, or 3 years of project development experience on an Agile Team or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Expertise with the Jira, Confluence and the Office suite
  • Agile Certifications are assets (PMP-A, SaFE, …)
  • Experience in a Cloud environment / projects
