JOB SUMMARY

We are currently hiring aSanitation Supervisor – Afternoon Shiftwho will report directly to the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager. The Sanitation Supervisor will have superior attention to detail, strong communication skills, be a team player, assertive and engaging.


Responsible for the strict adherence to the master sanitation schedule company standards, Canada GAP, and regulatory requirements, the Sanitation Supervisor will ensure the safe and effective sanitation of all areas within the production facility.


Work Schedule:

· Between September 1st to April 1st, the schedule will be Monday to Saturday 4:30 pm to 1:00 am.

· Between April 1st to September 1st, the schedule will be Monday to Friday 4:30 am to 1:00 am. Additional Saturday work may be required when necessary, between April 1st to September 1st.


During the production facility's blackout period (through October, November, December), no vacation time off is permitted.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sanitation

  • Execute and lead sanitation activities as determined by the master sanitation schedule.
  • Draft, maintain, and update Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Contribute to a healthy work environment, while maintaining high food safety standards.
  • Build strong relationships with maintenance to ensure sanitation requirements after service is completed.
  • Update and maintain the master sanitation schedule.
  • Control and coordinate all sanitation supplies, ordering on time and maintaining inventory at the agreed upon levels.
  • Communicate with QA Technicians regarding pre-operational findings and ATP swab results.
  • Follow and enforce all health and safety practices during sanitation at all times.
  • Maintain daily sanitation records in conjunction with production team.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of machine malfunctions. Implement Lockout/Tagout as required.


Audits and Reporting

  • Responsible for sanitation related corrective actions from internal and external audits.
  • Support and participate in annual food safety audits.


Training and Development

  • Develop, train, and support all sanitation employees.
  • Other duties as required.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Sanitation Supervisor position for a food manufacturer.
  • 3+ years knowledge of food safety programs, GMP programs, and Quality Systems.
  • 3+ years of food industry, food safety sanitation experience.


Skills:

  • Leadership Skills: Ability to use appropriate methods and interpersonal styles to motivate and guide fellow employees to keep up with deliverables and food safety protocols. Perform daily check-ins to attain successful outcomes and business objectives. Work cooperatively with others to help a team or work group achieve its goals.
  • Communication Skills: Supervisors will interact frequently with fellow employees, department managers, and senior management through various forms of communication.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Identify and understand problems and opportunities by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information; choosing the best course of action by establishing clear decision criteria, generating, and evaluating alternatives. Make timely decisions and take action that is consistent with available facts and constraints.
  • Time Management Skills: Strong time management skills are required to manage deadlines, audit schedules and meetings.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and in damp wet conditions.
  • Sound discrimination.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending.
