Expected Tasks Include

I need a research assistant to help me prepare the Canon Law (CMPL 502) course for next Fall term. The course has not been taught in decades, so we will effectively be designing it from scratch.

  • Uploading material to myCourses.
  • Procuring and comparing syllabi,
  • Evaluating possible textbooks and course material,
  • Identifying and contacting guest speakers,

Additional Required Information/documents

Here is the course description:

“This course is an introduction to the history, sources, and structure of (mostly Roman Catholic) canon law understood as a distinct legal tradition and as a living legal system. It will cover the different kinds and sources of legislation in the church; the origins, structure, and content of the modern Code of Canon Law; the relationship between law and theology; the use of canon law in pastoral practice and in canonical courts; and the relationship between canon law and "secular" legal systems (especially in areas of likely encounter between canon law and secular law such as property disputes, dissolution of marriage, corporate personality, and civil liability).”

Description Du Poste

Autres Informations/documents Requis
