(Remote) Quality Assurance Analyst

A division of Harris; Cayenta, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to join our R&D team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working in QA and must be able to create, execute, and analyze test plans. The ideal candidate must have the ability to write automation scripts to test web and desktop applications and have strong knowledge of TestComplete, JMeter, Selenium, Java/JS, and SQL. Longer term, the ideal candidate must have the ability to implement tools and procedures to improve Cayenta’s QA processes.

This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in BC.

What Your Impact Will Be

• Design testing plans and strategies for UI, API, load, performance, integration, and regression testing for our different products – web and client/server.
• Writing and maintaining automated test suites for front-end and back-end components using JMeter, TestComplete, Selenium, SQL, Java, JS, gitlab, PowerShell, or Windows Batch file.
• Develop and maintain existing scripts to refresh testing environments
• Installing and configuring test environments
• Analyze, recommend, and configure tools to be used for quality assurance
• Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met
• Collaborate with the development team and the rest of QA team to improve software quality
• Collect metrics to measure the quality of our products over time

What We Are Looking For

• Experience with test management systems such as SpiraTest or XRay
• Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and QA
• 3+ years of experience in software development QA
• Experience with test case generation for both manual and automated testing
• Accountability, respect, integrity, and discipline are core values. Able to meet responsibilities without constant supervision
• Experience with bug-tracking systems such as Jira
• Experience building automated test cases using TestComplete, JMeter, SQL, Java, JS, and Jenkins.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience working with one or more of the following databases MS SQL and Oracle
• Ability to work independently but also work well as a team player and constantly communicate with your team to ensure department goals are achieved

What Would Make You Standout

• Ability to lead, delegate and coordinate QA activities to service multiple development teams
• Experience with build automation and packaging would be an asset
• Knowledge of test automation best practices
• Experience programming and designing with JAVA or JS would be an asset
• Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) would be an asset
