Position: Registered Nurse (1p position)


Site: Toronto General Hospital


Department: Hemodialysis Program


Reports to: Nurse Manager


Salary Range: $34.24 - $49.02 per hour (Start rate determined in accordance with collective agreement requirements)


Hours: 37.50 Hours/ Week


Shifts: 9.4 Hour Days, Nights, Weekends


Status: Permanent Full-time

Hemodialysis nurses provide care to approximately 195 patients/day. Nurses in this area also support patients in the Home Hemodialysis program which allows patients to provide their own treatment in the comfort of their homes during the day or at night as a part of the nocturnal dialysis program.


The Hemodialysis program also has operational responsibility for the dialysis program at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute located at 550 University Avenue. Nurses rotate through this program. This portion of the program is first of its kind in Canada, and has been operating since April 2002.


Qualifications


  • Current Hemodialysis experience an asset
  • Nephrology experience and/or completion of the Nephrology certificate (preferably the Humber College Course) preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year, full-time current experience on a Medical/Surgical unit
  • Completion of BScN preferred
  • Nephrology, ICU or Emergency experience an asset
  • Current C.P.R. certification
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
  • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
